Brisk is a freight forwarder and logistics operator with offices at Manchester and London Heathrow Airports.
In 1982 we established Brisk Airfreight Ltd., basing ourselves at Manchester Airport. Our aim was to service the needs of shippers & importers in the North of England, Scotland & Wales, by utilizing the improving infrastructure and flight capacity operating from the Manchester Airport.
In 1983 we became a member of the International Air Transport Association and in 1984 became a full trading member of the Institute of Freight Forwarders which is now fronted by the British International Freight Association under whose 2005 conditions we trade.
In January 1988 we set up an ocean freight department trading as Brisk Overseas Shipping Services, which proved to be a huge success.
In April 1989 the owners of Brisk decided the time was right to open a London operation, which would compliment the Company as a whole. This new office enabled Brisk to establish a vitally important location in the South from which to operate from. We now had a combined North & South operation, which put us in a very strong position to offer comprehensive cover for all our UK clients and overseas partners. This office has seen rapid expansion and offers all the services offered by the Brisk Manchester office.
We were proud to announce in 1998 that Brisk were accredited with the British Standard EN ISO which indicated our dedication to strive for quality of service for our clients and overseas agents.
From both our locations in Manchester and London Heathrow we specialise in offering an Import Brokerage service. Brisk have direct electronic input to H M Customs which enables us to attend to our customers import clearance work at all the major UK Ports and Airports. From our Manchester & London locations we can service the whole of the United Kingdom. For the benefit of our overseas partners the UK consists of the following countries, England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland.
Our services encompass the whole area of freight forwarding and include deep sea and airfreight movement both inbound and outbound, trailer movement to Europe and the Near East, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing and Pick & Pack, Export Packing, Special Documentation and a total logistics operation.
In addition to the above, shippers should note that Brisk offer a House Agency Agreement whereby we liaise with Shipping Companies and airlines on your behalf, process letters of credit with Banks to ensure that payment is made and prepare commercial invoices on your own company headed paper, leaving you free to attend to other matters.
One of the original co-founders Kevin Short is now the sole owner of Brisk and still takes a very active part in the day to day running of Company affairs, especially in terms of sales and development.
